Gurugram Software Engineer Allegedly Kills Girlfriend, Dies by Suicide After Jumping Before Train
A Gurugram software engineer allegedly killed his girlfriend inside a rented accommodation and later died by suicide after jumping before a train. Police identified the deceased as Shreshth Malik and Ishara Ayubi, both employees of the same private company, and are investigating technical evidence and forensic findings.
The deceased have been identified as Shreshth Malik, a resident of Bhilai in Chhattisgarh, and his girlfriend Ishara Ayubi, a native of Sitapur in Uttar Pradesh. Both were employed with the same private company in Gurugram.
The incident came to light after Ayubi's family members repeatedly tried to contact her but received no response. When they contacted her workplace, they were informed that she had not reported for duty. Following this, the family approached the police and filed a missing person complaint.
During the investigation, the police traced Ayubi's mobile phone location to Malik's paying guest accommodation in Sector-55, Gurugram. The police broke open the locked room and found Ayubi's blood-stained body on the floor.
According to the investigation, Ayubi had suffered multiple stab injuries on her neck and was allegedly attacked with a sharp-edged weapon. The room was found to have been rented by Shreshth Malik.
Meanwhile, the police received information from the railway authorities regarding a man who had died by suicide after jumping in front of a train. The Government Railway Police recovered the body from railway tracks near Garhi railway station.
Further investigation helped the police establish a connection between the two deaths and identify the relationship between Malik and Ayubi. Police found that Ayubi had moved into the paying guest accommodation with Malik three days before the incident.
Inspector Manoj Kumar, Station House Officer of Sector-56 Police Station, said that the investigation was underway. He stated that the nature of the relationship between the two individuals and the reasons behind the incident would become clear only after the completion of the investigation.
"The police are examining their mobile phones, call records, conversations and other technical evidence. A case of murder has been registered and further investigation is underway," Inspector Manoj Kumar added.
Both bodies have been sent for post-mortem examinations. A forensic team has collected samples from the crime scenes and is investigating the case from all possible angles. The incident remains under investigation as police continue to examine evidence to determine the circumstances that led to the deaths of the two individuals.
